Leather Experiments

I had a range of different types of leather so I experimented using wire with a few of them to structure them, I also folded and sewed some of them, being influenced by the fossils, then I charred and imprinted on each of them with the hot pen using different ends to try different imprints I could make, each leather reacted differently due to their thickness and softness. I discovered the thin, black leather worked very well because the imprints were very clear and the white, thick, soft one scrunched up due to the heat.

Paper Manipulation

I experimented by manipulating, folding and scoring paper to get an idea of some kind of structure I could use before I use the leather.

Fragility, Impermanence & Protection Project

This is our new brief and we have been given the words, fragility, Impermanence and Protection; we have to chose one or all of these words. I'm looking more at protection and these are the fossils I looked at at the museum to develop the accessory I plan to make.
