Test Pieces

I made these origami test pieces using white tissue paper. They are very time consuming and you have to have a lot of patients to do them. It is easier to make using card but I wanted a more delicate look to mine so I decided to use white tissue paper. I decided to make these because they linked to Lucienne Day's designs like the ones I have put in my journal, that are shown in the picture above. The YouTube clip I used were: http://youtu.be/s4W1khi57DU

Experiment and Collages

These are my experiments and collages I have previously made. Me and my tutor put them on the manikin to see how they can be displayed and where would be best. I compared my collages to the experiment pieces to see which one works best with which. I am going to make more test pieces and collages so I have more to work with.

Test Pieces

I wanted to experiment with some different kind of shapes so I tried this flower origami. I used the wax iron, coloured paper I made to make this. I cut them into single petals to make another shape out of it. To make the original shape before I cut into it, I used this YouTube clip: http://youtu.be/wj9Oy41fVOc

Collages

From setting up the studio in the corridor, it was easier for me to produce these collages. I made these collages from Lucienne Day's designs and my patterns I made using wax iron.

Studio

I set my work out in the corridor and pinned pieces of all of the patterns I have made, with wax iron onto the wall. From this I made my own collages using Lucienne Day's designs and my patterns.

Fashion Competition

The competition took place on the 21st of May. I'm very happy to say we came in 1st place and won! This is what we made in about 3 hours and took a team of 4 of us to complete it. We made it out of acetate, sellotape, staples and plastic bottles. This is the trophy we were awarded with.

Fashion Competition

I have been entered into a competition along with other classmates where we have to make an accessory from upcycled, recycled materials which are limited. We decided to use acetate. We wanted to have a sophisticated accessory and didn't want it to look tacky which can be the obvious mistake to make when using upcycled materials. Because of this we decided on using clear materials, which would be best and make more of a statement.
