Insecurity

From looking at Matthew Darbyshire's work and from meeting him, he said that the person behind the Blade's House and who "lives" there is self-conscious so I wanted to take that to respond to his work... From this I got the word insecurity which I wanted to portray through my final outcome. To do this I need to use fragile/weak material

Through this sample I wanted to create something that would be strong and neat on one side and messy and untidy on the other to portray someone that comes across like they're okay but on the inside has a lot of problems and insecurities that doesn't always come across on the outside.

For this I wanted to make something that was delicate so I used a craft knife to cut out the triangles. I used black sugar paper and red sugar paper for these samples but if I was to choose to do something like this for my final piece I would use a more fragile material and cut the lines so that they're thinner.
